GB or screen size? I think 16gb minimum, and like 8 inch screen or so. I have tried the nexus and it's a little small for my liking.

the fire is about 9 inches, so thats a little better than the Nexus.

It runs an artifically limited version of Android, so if you're a tinkerer you could probably make it do everything you want. but its not a "google official" android device with easy access to all their native apps.

I doubt you see the Surface RT again for $199 - I think that was kind of Microsoft's version of an HP webOS Slate firesale. HOPEFULLY they consolidate the RT and Windows Phone code together. That would be a great OS.

The Asus T100 has caught my eye. At sub $400 with a keyboard, and seems to run the "full" Windows 8. I am going to play with my sister's Surface Tablet she just got, and might go with the T100

Amazon's shipping sure goes into the crapper this time of year. I received 2 DVDs, both of which had just been thrown into a box and were flopping around loose. No time for shrink wrapping, I guess. But even worse, I received a puzzle that I ordered for my neighbor for Christmas. They didn't even put it in a box, they slapped the shipping label and the two smaller shipping stickers directly on the puzzle box and covering up the puzzle artwork. I guess, at Amazon, you don't need to look at a picture of the puzzle to put it together.

That's pretty lame. But I bet if you called and asked for another one, they would gladly accommodate you. They have great customer service.

Played around with my sister's Surface Tablet last night. Windows 8 is wonky. Hard to explain.. I guess it would get better with time. Is there not a facebook app? Not that its a deal breaker but she said she couldnt find one in the windows store.

That is the word for Windows 8. Does that run a specialized version of 8? I think 8.1 is out now and it brings back the start menu.

See this is the disconnect Microsoft is dealing with. Whats the point of a Facebook "app?" Whats wrong with the website? You don't have a Facebook app on a computer.

I thought that's why they built that horrible interface.....to run apps.

You're exactly right. And thats what they'd like. But Facebook never made a Windows "app" before, so why do they need to now.

The mobile touchscreen app is just so much easier to use. Hell I prefer it over the traditional Windows 7 desktop style Facebook. There are too many links and garbage on the regular page for it to be used on a tablet.

i look at it as the "apps" being icons on the desktop. the application lends for a prettier GUI within the specific website, thus enhancing the experience. i dont think they are successful yet with that concept, but i understand the rationale.
