Pitt looking good. That game against Syracuse should be a real big test, hell going on the road to GT Next game will be a big test too.

Sixth man Durand Johnson done for the year. Big blow for the team. Johnson contributes solid minutes on a nightly basis and is a very good outside scoring threat. The injury should mean increased minutes for Josh Newkirk and Chris Jones, but Detrick Mostella's inability to qualify for the spring semester hurts even more now.

Finally cracked the top 25.

22 in the AP and 21 in the Coaches.

Sucks about Johnson though.

btw did anyone else notice that johnson was only shooting 33% this year from 3 point land? It seemed like he was acutally shooting a lot better than he was.

He had four 0-4 performances that really hurt his shooting percentage.

thats like saying a golfer jacked four balls into the woods and/or lakes, leading to a high score.

That definitely would lead to a high score.

He's just has a tendency to be a streaky shooter. When he's on, he's extremely reliable. When he's off, its ugly but he keeps on jacking up threes anyways.

Pretty much leaves Patterson as the only real outside threat. Johnson was pretty good, not great, but they needed someone besides Patterson that could be a threat from 3. Hope someone can step up.

Pitt's doing everything they can to make this interesting. Why are you fouling up 6 when the guy is driving? Just let him go.

Pitt looks good. Bring on Cuse. Knock on wood but Pitt has had their number lately. Even a close liss should keep them ranked, I would think.

Good win for Pitt last night. GT only played with 8 scholarship guys, but Pitt only had 9, so whatever. Not much contribution from the bench (13, 12, 8, and 4 minutes). Would be nice to see one of them establish themselves as the 6th man, but I guess that will take some time. Important for Pitt to get a win in a game where Patterson isn't at his best, but when he's off his game they have no outside scoring threat.

Pitt with some truly bizarre turnovers last night, especially Patterson. Made the game closer than it really should have been.

Durand Johnson would have been very helpful on Saturday. Still, the team has really found a way to improve the rebounding and is playing very tough.
