2013-14 NCAA Basketball

Postby Idoit40fans on Fri Nov 08, 2013 5:00 pm

I don't think there is a thread for this yet. If there is, please merge this to JTOR.

I'm committing myself to actually watching some more College Hoops this year since I've been an absentee for the last 2 or so.

Wiggins debuts at 8 on ESPN 3. I'm hoping to watch it tonight.

UNC...but watching Wiggins should be entertaining and while not a Pitt football fan, I root for the bball program to develop the sport in the region.

Watching md try to comeback against uconn right now. I think im going to watch good matchups in basketball this year, im not going to follow pitt all that much. It should be a lot more enjoyable. Im not sayin MD UConn is a captivating matchup though.

I'm hoping my Zips can get ranked again this year, they'll be solid. I don't think we're renewing our pitt tix next year, we give half away. I'd rather eat my socks than watch the OOC schedule

My PC Friars are off to a good start with an OT win over BC yesterday. Game was painful to watch. The new hand checking rules are going to take some teams time to adjust to, especially more physical teams. 4 players fouled out total.

The new Fox Sports Networks are going to be great for me, every PC game except a couple vs low majors is on Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, CBS Sports Net, or an ESPN.

He looked good last night, looking forward to the Kansas-Duke game on Tuesday should be a solid matchup.

Not that anybody cares I guess, but UNC played great against no. 3 louisville. Marcus Paige played like what we've been anticipating. Good win.

Butler is 4-0 in the post-Brad Stevens era, but hasn't looked that great in any of them.

--Carolina very impressive in that win over Louisville
--Sparty might be the most complete team in the country already. Keep in mind for your brackets that EVERY player who has gone through 4 years of play since Izzo has been at MSU has made it to the Final Four...and Sparty hasn't been to the FF since 2009 so they're due.
--Watched Kansas dismantle Duke and my Towson Tigers...they're gonna be a huge matchup problem for a number of teams. Their freshman big man Embiid really can't be stopped by too many players.
--KU's biggest competition in the Big 12 is gonna be Okie State. Marcus Smart is scary good.

My Friars are aiming to get to 6-0.

Game is at 10. Guess they want to make sure it doesn't start till the Pens are done.

Well, I don't know what the officials were looking at on that replay. Providence player's foot was behind the white college line on that 3. Really changes the final strategy when you're down 4 instead of down 3 like they should have been. Must have been Pac-12 officials making the call.

Carolina is the most frustrating team in college basketball. How do you lose to Belmont and UAB but beat Louisville and Michigan State?

I said to one of my Carolina friends last nite that UNC only seems to play well against teams with a number next to their name. Last night's win was the only one of those 4 games referenced that I saw so I don't know what the particulars were of the other 3. But last night was a team that played some stiff defense and didn't allow a Sparty team, notorious for crashing the boards relentlessly, to control the glass. Very impressive win. Now let's see if they can build on it.

tokoto said it best. Paraphrasing: we came out against uab and Belmont expecting to win and not earning it.

Was offered a free ticket to the Carolina-UK game tonight and had to turn it down to finish a grad school paper I've procrastinated on for two weeks now. :face:

I don't care for those teams, but that would have probably caused me to die a little bit.

My mom's sister used to teach at UK, so she scored us some tickets at Rupp Arena.
I was about 10, so I have no idea who they played, but the takeaway was that the locals called it "Rough Arena."
