I don't know what part of the game last night was better, UNC winning or Kentucky losing.

“We have one of the very elite basketball programs in the country, and we want to do everything we can to stay there,” KU associate athletic director Jim Marchiony said. “Not only that, we need to, and housing is part of that.”

At first glance, the price tag may induce some sticker shock. The estimated cost per resident is close to $265,000.
By comparison, KU is also building two new freshman-focused residence halls to replace McCollum Hall. The estimated cost of that project — $47.8 million — comes out to $68,000 per resident.

Ugh. Putting the student back in student-athlete <removes tongue from cheek>

Providence beat Georgetown by 18 last night. First win over the Hoyas in 9 years. Been following them since I started going there in 96 and frankly I don't remember them ever beating Georgetown.

Unranked PSU beat ranked Ohio St. last night. Big win for the Nittany Lions. They're playing better than their record, losing most games by a few points. They are still not very good but this is progress.

Don't really watch basketball, but I have no idea how OSU is/was still ranked.

They don't have any scorers, from what I gather from the random talk around campus.

Pretty sure nobody saw it but Indiana put up one of the biggest choke jobs I've ever seen (not in points but in definitely in choke-a-rifficness) against PSU the other night, blowing an 8 point lead with 2 minutes left. PSU did to their credit play excellent D, Stealing 2 inbounds passes and forcing another 5 second call. They even got the benefit of a terrible offensive foul call when the IU defender had both feet off the ground.

IU was probably not going anywhere but still, beating them at Bloomington is no joke. Tim Frazier really deserves more recognition than he'll ever get at PSU.

Syracuse just lost to a God-awful Boston College team at home, after leading by 8 at the half. Obviously it's just their first loss, but that team has a ton of holes/problems.

They were close to losing to Pitt twice. 'nuff said.

Don't mess with Tar Heels Nation. Duke may have been able to put off this loss for a week or so, but they couldn't hide forever.

Duke UNC gives the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry a run for its money in terms of being played out/shoved down your throat.

Most "rivalry" games are mundane if you don't have a rooting interest.

You're not going to believe this, but Duke just got the benefit of an absolutely horrible call towards the end of the game to give them the win. Oh, and they are playing at Coach K Arena.

It was a brutal call and as a ref myself, I'm not even going to attempt to come up with a justification as to why he'd call that a charge. There's a small one but that's a Championship Game ref who made that call.
