Mendenhall is not the same player since that injury.

That really doesn't matter anyway. Mendenhall was brought into this conversation when someone said that Bell is the best RB the steelers have had in the last 3 seasons. Mendenhall had better YPC in 2011 and his time in 2012.

No, that's a fair point. I guess I was responding from the "eye test", in that Bell seems to be more able to produce something from nothing.

Out of curiosity, which offensive position is lacking talent? RB? Ask most experts, they'll tell you he's a very talented running back. WR? We have a good bit of talent there, I'd say. QB? He's one of the best in the league (I know...debatable.) TE? You don't get much more consistent than Heath. O-line... eek.

whoops... slappy beat me there.

:fist:

Nothing at WR behind brown, nothing at TE behind miller and nothing at RB behind Bell.

Is this really even up for debate? Is the running theory (for what seems like eternity) that they just need to improve the line and then back to SB champs?

In my opinion Dywer is the best runner on the team, but Tomlin is still mad at him for being out of shape 3 years ago so it's a moot point.

So that's the point in that post you want to address? I think it's pretty clear that I am more bearish than everyone here on the steelers short term prospects, but i don't think pointing out that my stance is "too"bearish does anything to detract from my hypothesis.

I think that i fear the org might also share your guys sentiment about their prospect and need for one more broeth window. So changes will just amount to firing Haley and a continued revolving door oline

I'm pretty sure that Bell is better than Mendenhall was those last 1+ years as well. At the time we had been talking about YPC though.

Still can't figure out why they cut him instead of Redman.

Unless you are analyzing coaches tape, I highly doubt that watching the broadcast gives you any more insight into analyzing the short term prospects of this team as opposed to my results based analysis.

They have a crap record, they've played a bad schedule and have a bad cap scenario

Perhaps he runs well because he has few opportunities. ie he is fresh.

Oh you mean like how I played football for most of my life and have coached and evaluated talent... You're right I could never look at all the angles that broadcasts have and get a good opinion on a player. Thank you Mr. No watch... :pop:

I've played every Madden from 1994 to 2001 even Madden 64 where you could create 8 foot tall players. I think I know football.

There is no argument. One guy admits to not watching or caring. I would think the other person knows more about the team. Its common sense even without the other person having a background. No need for the asinine posts.

Cause I stated my background knowledge in football? So people can't say anything to help bolster their opinion? Point noted...

Kordell Stewart on a sideline fade to Antwan Randle El won me many a game.

Yea... he once got a lot of carries, and he did this
http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=321021004

Then he followed it up with, this

http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=321028023

Then leftwhich became qb, and the d overly stacked the line to stop Dwyer, he struggled 1 game and was never given a shot again.
