yeah, he's a verbal commit. I don't necessarily have an opinion one way or another about Franklin going after him.

Urban poached the PSU class a few years ago, (right after the Sandusky stuff hit the fan)..... I know that it was a different situation, but I think tha recruiting should be open season until they sign the LOI.

I wish they would just get rid of verbals altogether. Make a commit stick to his committment. There should be clauses written in (coach leaves, sanctions, family issues, etc....) but I feel like they should honor their word.

Given Franklin was late to the party I dont have any issue with him recruiting a kid who made a verbal commitment to another Big 10 school. Especially since the kid is in state.

I thought it was kind of an unwritten rule that when a commit is firm on a school that you dont recruit them.

No but it's a written rule that you can't talk about unsigned recruits. Franklin's skirting the rule here by not naming him by name even though it's clear who he is talking about.

Campbell, a 3-star safety from Alabama, is the sixth player in the 2014 class that could play in the defensive backfield. Five recruits are listed as defensive backs and Koa Farmer is listed as a linebacker/safety. At six-foot-one, 181 pounds, Campbell already has decent size for a defensive back. Until his decision to go to Penn State, Minnesota and Missouri were the favorites to land the defensive back.

Campbell makes the 25th player to commit to the Nittany Lions for the 2014 class. Under the NCAA sanctions, Penn State is allowed to have 20 scholarships this season. Five recruits do not count for this class as they are now enrolled at the school.

With a day left before National Signing Day, the recruiting class is now full. However, former Vanderbilt commit Lloyd Tubman, who was the first to follow Franklin to Penn State, has decided to reopen his recruiting. If that happens, there will be one available scholarship that could be used on Wednesday.

Llyod Tubman 3* DE has decommited. He was considered a "soft verbal". He will choose between PSU, Kentucky and Nebraska tomorrow at 8am

If he decommits that leaves 1 scholarship available. Who could they dial up at the last minute?

"@Ben_Jones88: Robinson commit gives Penn State four 4-stars in the seven man 2015 class so far."

Franklin has been doing a great job with recruiting so far. If all of these guys stay committed, this 2015 class is going to be the best in recent memory.

the BOB followed by Franklin recruiting has me excited for the future of PSU football. Too bad I'll only be here for a couple more years.

I got a chance to hear the Penn State coaching staff speak over the weekend. They were impressive. The energy level was very encouraging. Brent Pry, who is the assistant head coach and linebackers coach was particularly impressive.

I want to go. Not sure if I can convince the wife. I have a friend who lives in State College who has an extra room that he rents out. He's visiting this weekend so I was going to see what his plans were.

With 4* Juwan Johnson, #2 NJ recruit, PSU moves up to the #4 spot in the country. Extremely impressed with what Franklin has been able to accomplish so far. If the scholarships are restored, I would expect a top 10 class, easily.

Blackhawk's Sophomore walk on Cole Chiappialle ran for 63 yards and 2 TDs in the Blue White game yesterday.

Could very well be the last time his name is mentioned wrt PSU football but... That's pretty cool.

With McLean's commit, PSU has the unanimous #1 recruiting class (jumping Alabama). Pretty friggin' unreal, all things considered.
