There's a place out here called Pink's that's considered this local treasure. They're open late, which is sorta unusual in L.A., so there's always mad huge lines after hours. (I've waited in line for 45 minutes before) First time I went, I was like "This tastes like Texas Hot Dogs....." Which is a good thing, but I was expecting something a bit more considering the fuss.
