Out of curiosity, what major league player are folks comparing Polanco to?

Are you sure you don't mean a significantly slower Abreu?

I assume we are comparing both of them at their primes, but really...if we're going 2011, then its a push.

really? I was thinking more later abreu, but even in his prime it's a push. Abreu reached 40 steals once, polanco's speed grades at 70 I think. There are clips of him beating out choppers to 2nd base.

Oh I read your post in a vacuum, thought you were comparing Choo to Abreu. Based on what i've seen/read of polanco, i wouldn't compare him to either of those guys, but would agree that Abreu is way closer to being appropriate.

Isn't he supposedly better during day games? Maybe they should extract value by trading him to Chicago. Bryant?

That would be a smart deal for small market team like the pirates. I don't see the Cubs going for that though.

Our buddy Poser today with the Red Sox gave up an RBI single to Pedro and a double to Snider. More like world chumps AMIRITE?

So this mcguiness guy that is competing for the first base job...does he have a legitimate change to make the team? GMNH was on the fan morning show driven by #1 cochran and mentioned him a few times. kenny the kangaroo assumed mcguiness was just some AAAA type organizational depth.
