Wow. 20 some people. The thing that is hard to deal with is no matter what measures schools put into place if someone wants to do something it can't be prevented.

Early reports were it was a bad case of bullying (im guessing that means the assailant was the bullied victim).

Per KDKA 3 have chest and abdomen wounds and went for surgery. 5 more patients may need additional tests.

I believe I also heard that 7 are life threatening, but the CEO of Forbes is confident none will die.

Probably so the teachers there could help out at the HS. IIRC all the schools are in one area.

Now KDKA is interviewing some poor girl who barely speaks English.

I was there yesterday, was possibly going to work on-site today. Guess I picked a good day to work remote. It's crazy how one day everything is hunky dory and then this.

Probably because there are some parents that have kids in both schools, friends affected, and all medical personal and authorities are focused on the highschool, so if there is another emergency it would be difficult. I don't even know why this question would be asked.

As for the high school, I hope everyone is ok and makes it. Sounds like the head medical guy didn't feel any were life threatening, but there are some serious wounds.

I didn't get that impression. It sounded to me like he was being purposely vague.

I think he said they're "obviously life threatening" as in, if we dont get them fixed, they will die.

I was listening to KDKA radio and they made it sound like they didn't believe any were life threatening. And this was about and hour and a half ago. So they may have different info now.

I just really hope everyone pulls through.

Ok. I listened to the interview on CNN. The head trauma doc at Forbes. He sounded pretty grim.

I wish nothing but health for those involved, but watching this reminds me why I hate the news.

I spent 30 minutes on a "breaking" story with nothing new to share. They try so hard to extract news and fail at it. I really think we'd be better off if they waited, collected some news and broke it to us then, rather than praying they're on the air live when something happens.

9/11 changed everything from politics to how the media works. Ever since then the 24 hour news channels have been abysmal. It gets worse very month.

With no anti-gun movement in play, what's the angle of the story for them?

Students are saying on twitter that another student pulled the fire alarm when it started to get everyone out.
