Well, I decided to give the newest Green Day album a listen (for reference -- didn't listen to any of UNO based off of "oh love" and "kill the DJ", liked American Idiot, thought 21st Century was average at best), and can safely say I'm done with the band. Only one decent track on it (Lazy Bones).

I liked the Foxboro Hottubs side project, but as a one-off thing, and these songs aren't nearly as good as those ones.

I was fine with this album just being mediocre and forgettable, but then I heard the song "Nightlife" and I was personally offended something that awful was allowed to be made. It's instantly the worst Green Day song ever by far, and is something I wish I could un-hear. Check it out at your own risk.

They've used a lot more profanity on their more recent albums than their past ones (and don't get me wrong, I generally like that and use quite a lot myself) -- it just sounds so forced. They've definitely run out of ideas, though I'm sure many would say that happened a long time ago.

Idk...I've always liked billies pop sensibility. I haven't heard much of the new albums but 21st century breakdown was awesome. Also adore warning and Nimrod.

the only thing I don't have on mine is Into The Unknown and one of the CDs from the early 2000s (New America?).

Into The Unknown is just one of those albums that I can listen to a song or two for a short period of time, but to have it on while in the car, at the gym, or at work? Probably not. I know it's more the exception to the dozen or so albums that they released, and it's not even that it's unlistenable, but if you're listening to Bad Religion for that Bad Religion Sound, "Unknown" is one to avoid.

Godric, I think they do a few of those hangouts on google. There was one from about 2-3 weeks ago in the sidebar.

Fletcher Dragge and Jim Lindberg made a surprise visit to The Kevin & Bean Show to announce the band’s reuniting and a celebratory show in January.

“We’re happy to announce that Jim is rejoining Pennywise and we’re all looking forward to playing music together again. We’re going to celebrate our re-union with a show at the Hollywood Palladium, January 18th to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Pennywise for our friends and fans in L.A.”

During a January, 2012 performance in Germany, Teglas injured his back, sending the singer to the hospital for emergency surgery. Unfortunately, Teglas’ healing would last longer than expected, forcing the band to cancel all touring activity through the end of 2012. According to Dragge and Lindberg, Teglas wanted out of the band for awhile. Apparently he’d even been calling Lindberg and begging him to come back to the band.

“He’s actually happy. He’s happy to get the hell out of here,” laughed Dragge. “Jim told me he was calling and saying, ‘Hurry up and come back man.’”

If they came on Sirius and I was driving home, I probably wouldn't turn it off. Now would I go out of my way to listen to them or even download? Probably not.

They're in that JS© gray area of "bands that I should like but don't for some unknown reason". QOTSA are also in this group. There's one or two songs that I like mainly from being on Mellon's/CEC's pregame playlist, but aside from that I would never listen to them.
