I saw the Pissed Jeans ans they were like a Black Flag tribute band and kind of mean that in a good way.

Not as much as these guys were, however:

I re-downloaded Glassjaw's "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence" today to run to. I forgot how pissed off I was as a 15 year old. Why didn't someone pull me aside and point out how misogynistic Daryl Palumbo was?

I remember hearing them like 5 years ago and writing them off as an angsty hardcore band. I gave this album a shot for the hell of it, and I love that bathroom laughter song. It's not just screaming over a sludgy power chords...i like the way the vocals seem to chase the riff.

And yeah, you could put that Bl'ast song on a black flag album and I wouldn't be able to single it out as not them.

That song is pretty rad, especially the Kendrick Lamar verse. I like the tracks LVL and Hell the best, they're heavy with the electronic style.

Gonna sprinkle some Maritime pride into this thread... not every day we see some local products crack the top 5 on iTunes Top Songs (currently at #4).

I think I actually prefer the live version performed on MuchMusic...

And the new download site - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13598886/Rough%20Song.mp3 - has been 'temporarily' disabled due to too much traffic.

This is a good friend of mine. He's an incredible songwriter. He just released his first album and it was one of the top iTunes albums of 2012. This is a solo performance from a show last Saturday and he does have full band stuff. Check him out. Gideon Grove.

Gaucho,

Have you listened to that Torres chick yet? I'm getting a little PJ Harvey vibe from that.

Understandable. I'm in a "i'm going to listen to everything phase right now", i can't really fully say if I like this or not. I think that honey song is good, i just wanted to bounce it off of you cause it's sort of in that fiona apple, pj harvey female rocker singer/songwriter..whatver you'd call that style.
