Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.

This probably should've deserved it's own topic imo. Hanneman was the heart, soul, and evil of Slayer. He wrote all the best Slayer songs, played the best parts, and was probably the only not-replaceable (spare Araya, but how hard is it to replace a singer??) part of Slayer. They're going to continue without him as they have the last couple years but I won't be supporting this dragging of the Slayer corpse anymore. King never bothered to contact Hanneman after he almost died from that bite. Every time he was asked about it he said he was too busy. Exactly how busy of a man is someone to not be able to contact a gravely ill person who essentially was just as responsible for your success as you were? It's the Kerry King show and honestly he's overrated.
