Saw a Heart vid in Random Songs.

Was just watching the R&R HOF ceremony on HBO

Luke Skywalker killing it on guitar.

Heart performed this and Barracuda on the ceremony; joined by some Seattle-ites - Jerry Cantrell, Mike McCready, & Chris Cornell

Speaking of White Kimonos, the ceremony is worth watching if for nothing else than Grohl & Hawkins induction speech for Rush, followed by their performance.

(NSFW)

And this may be the best acceptance speech ever

Anybody else can't stand Chris Cornell's singing voice?

I don't think I know a single name on that list, except Shad. Didn't know he was a musician.

Never heard but I will go on youtube now.

Anything on that list a bit raunchy? I know you played some stuff before I kinda liked.

I wouldn't call this metal. Sounds OK, though.

My list would look pretty much like Troy's, but I would add Austra, Flume, and of course Bob Mould. An oversight, Troy?

Bonnie Billy is the act I'd most like to see, but I think I'd prefer him in a smaller venue.

I'd watch shad as long as he promises not to dance.

Never heard of Austra or Flume and don't care to see an old Bob Mould. Would he play one of the two or three Husker Du songs that i like...doubt it.

I was talking music with a coworker earlier and her band opened up for the Minutemen in Houston in 1984.

I was only referring to Mould. I like his solo stuff and would definitely watch him. Not sure I'd even want him to play Hüsker Dü songs.

Hmm, I think the Crystal Ballroom is the largest venue. Doesn't seem too out of control on venue size.

Yeah, your right. The name sounds metal to me, but their genre is apparantly "sludge", whatever that means. Maybe i'll download it tonight, see what it's all about. (can't watch youtube at work)

I'm not familiar with it, just figured it was one of those big festival stages.

Capacity 2000, is that correct?

I've been a fan of Husker Du since their hardcore days, though I can appreciate their later style as well. I really like this album...

I'm not sure. There is another theater (Star Theater) venue, but other than that is much smaller venues and one outside "town square" type venue. It is a pretty neat festival, from what I can gather. There were 16 venues last year. I think the all-access pass is something like $80. Crazy.

I'd say "sludge" is an apt description of the kind of stuff Mastodon plays. It's mostly fused with prog and alt metal to get the sound they get.

It's a grunge + punk kind of mix.
