It's still the same lead singer. I'm pretty the entire rest of the band is different, i think that dude is just a nut case at this point. But man, their first three albums were pretty awesome when we were 18 years old.

Dat new Alice in Chains album ... holy crap is it good. All the "I miss Layne" haters can shut up. Give this one a listen. "Phantom Limb" is my fav track so far.

Never heard but I will go on youtube now.

Anything on that list a bit raunchy? I know you played some stuff before I kinda liked.

I wouldn't call this metal. Sounds OK, though.

Yeah, your right. The name sounds metal to me, but their genre is apparantly "sludge", whatever that means. Maybe i'll download it tonight, see what it's all about. (can't watch youtube at work)

Early Baroness material was definitely mostly sludge. It was just as heavy as early Mastodon material with less than tolerable vocals and a more progressive style (before "Crack The Skye" era Mastodon), though they still fit with the sound. They've transitioned sounds from each album and evolved with each. Nowadays they're way more laid back than they used to be.

New Evile is out. Probably the most promising of this "new wave" of thrash bands coming out. They started off as a Slayer clone and eventually integrated the midpaced mid-late 80s Metallica riffage to the fold. I can't find another thrash band that started after 2000 I like more.

Hey CMA....

I plan on buying the latest Ghost album along with the new QOTSA album Tuesday. I know we chatted before about this, but the whole album has that mellow Sabbath style with softer melodic vocals right? I don't want to buy a album and the single doesn't match the album.

Yeah, just about every song follows the same pattern more or less. If you like the new one, look into their first, Opus Eponymous, because top to bottom it's definitely a bit better and the songs are more catchy.

Twilight Zone by Golden Earing, the video is really good. Well for the 80s when vidoes were still a new thing.

They're a good band. I really like the song below. Crap video. Somebody should tell the singer he doesn't have to stare at the camera like he were instructed on American idol. And I don't know why the drummer is wearing a goofy mohawk.

My favorite new band is Suicidal Angels from Greece that I posted on page 212. Don't know if you caught that post or not.

For those with Itunes...Black Sabbath's new album is streaming its store and it is absolutely monstrous. I had high expectations for the album and it's surpassed them.

Jerry Cantrell sings a lot and in my eyes AIC always had two lead singers. So, I've never been one of those people who didn't give a Layne-less version of AIC a chance. That said, I didn't really care for the new album after the first few listens but it is starting to grow on me.

So far the new QOTSA is very good. The new Filter record is whats to be expected.
