First albums:
CD: Depeche Mode - Violator
Cassette: I'm 99% sure it was Weird Al, but I'm not sure which one it was. I'll have to look it up on wiki in a second.

Guy I work with is transferring to a different unit and has asked me to move a significant amount of data to encrypted USB drives. I'd say about 1/3 of the data is music that has been passed around the company. I just don't see him being the type that listens to Basement Jaxx, Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate, Samiam, Danzig, and Cannibal Corpse.

Mine was Chocolate Starfish and Hotdog Flavored Water by Limp Bizkit. I was 9.

If you were my 9 year old I'd NEVER let you listen to that album.

Toto's debut album, Pink Floyd The Wall or Pat Benatar's In the Heat of the Night. '78 or '79 but I can't remember which one was purchased first. Love Gun was the first cassette.

Ben Folds Five self-titled. And it's still my favorite album.

I also don't really care for almost all metal. So this thread is pretty useless for me :P

We discuss all kinds of music here.

I usually tune out Troy and Kraftster, because I already turned in my hipster card a few years ago.

Can't remember. I had Columbia House but they eventually kicked me out for sending back the record every month.

PERSONAL ATTACK!

I also chuckle at the notion of Kraftster being a hipster.

:thumb: :thumb: Bryan Adams Waking Up the Neighbors was my first CD purchase. Followed by Offspring Smash, I think.

First album I remember playing was Disco Duck or Rubber Ducky

First album I ever remember getting was the cassette for Survivor - Eye of the Tiger

First album I bought with my own money was Poison - Flesh and Blood (also on cassette)

First CD I ever got Kenny G. Yeah, that's right. I got a CD player for my 13th birthday and I played sax at the time. My brother got it for me. I now realize that it was 50% joke and 50% serious. Say what you want, dude is a talented musician.

First CD I ever bought with my own money was Queen, whatever album We Will Rock You is on.

I say the same thing you say about Kenny G to my metalhead friends except about John Mayer.

I don't know why but all guitar players hate Jon Mayer. I can't explain it. Dude is an incredible musician but we all just hate him.

I dunno either. I don't like his music, but he's a boss-tier guitarist.

I remember my grandma buying me & my bro BBD-Poison and Bon Jovi -new jersey on cassette. I believe the first CD I bought with my own money was Queen: A night at the opera, but it could have also been Aladdin sountrack or The Bodyguard soundtrack, memory is foggy
