If you befriend your local Gamestop employee and pre-order the game, there is a chance you can get it on the 9th. My gamestop here in MD will receive on the 9th and I will pick it up the same day.

Again, I play for Team XBS (http://www.xbox-sports.com). Our motto is respect and we are in this for fun. Sure, we want to win but we are more focused on a fun game, good positioning and realistic hockey (well, as realistic as you can get with no line changes...)

My buddy who doesnt post here is a huge pens fan and hes really good at nhl 08 on Xbox360.

He wants to play defense if you want to pencil him in.

We do need some more defensemen..

The team should be all members here, so maybe he can make an account just for the hell of it.

The problem is that no one seems to be able to register.

LCS Hockey or whatever isn't the newest registered member anymore, so maybe you can register now, I'm not sure.

I was talking more about playing 08 prior to 09 release date.

I am all for some practices but from what I understand there are going to be some major changes to the defensemen in 09 (like being able to lift the offensive players stick and improvements to the defensive skill stick). So practice might not do a whole lot for the defenders.

I know it's not going to help much, but I've been playing 08 a lot these past couple days to stay in game shape.

I pre-ordered NHL 09 today at Gamestop. I was told I can pick it up on Sept 10th.
