We need a general discussion of thread for hockey jersey and team identities. Not to leach off of Icethetics or PuckDrawn or anything, but we need a place for LGPer's. So here we go...

New for the 2011-2012 season:

Dallas
May or may not be getting a new green jersey.

Edmonton
Got a white version of their retro home jersey. Debuted at the draft.

Spoiler:

Florida
Unveiled a new red jersey that will serve as their home jersey. Basically a recolor of the team's primary blues, minus some yellow piping.

Unveiled a white version of their previous black alternate jersey at the draft. These will now their primary jerseys and logo.

Nashville
Unveiled an update to their brand with new logos and uniforms. The updated logo is a simplified version of their previous primary with a focus on yellow.

New York Islanders
Will have a new alternate this coming season. Most rumors are reporting that it may be black.

Ottawa
Will have a new alternate this coming season.

Pittsburgh
The powder blues are supposedly retired and the 2011 Winter Classic jerseys will be worn as alternates.

Tampa Bay
Unveiled new logos and uniforms in January.

I'd like to mention that I love the new look of the Predators. Their old logo was dated and way too detailed. The emphasis on yellow is refreshing and looks real nice. Love the guitar pick alternate logo too.

Yea I prefer the purple and black over the purple and yellow, however I do enjoy when they wear the full yellows 3-4 times a year.

I don't like it because at a glance it looks exactly like the Maple Leafs. Definitely needed some black. Adding it to the numbers and pants aren't enough. Also, getting rid of the victory stripes is inexcusable.

But it has grown on me a bit since they unveiled it. An improvement overall I would say. But the Bolts never really looked that good to begin with.

Funny, because the game hasn't been officially announced yet and everything about it is based on a concept image by DC Visual Arts.


Nothing about this image is legit. The event logo looks bush league, but the jerseys are passable, I guess.

I'm actually very surprised there isn't a knockoff version of the Rangers concept jersey yet.

Some details on the new Nashville jersey.
- The Nashville wordmark will not appear on the front of the jersey. It appears on the back collar.
- The guitar pick logo will only appear on the right shoulder.
- The numbers have guitar strings.
- There is a piano print on the inside collar.



My thoughts... The Nashville wordmark looks horrible on the back. Just way too much text there already with the updated Reebok logo and players name there. The piano print and guitar string numbers are gimmicky and really detract from a very nice jersey.

I've seen a lot of BAD concepts. My hope is that they take the time and get it right. I'd hate to see them make the same mistakes as the Oklahoma City Thunder did when they rushed their design process.

That Flyers jersey is pretty ok.

Anything would be better than that stupid P thing. Just seeing that makes me angry. It is terrible based on its own merits, let alone the swine it's associated with.

Just heard that the Panthers will also have updated white away jerseys. Nothing major though. The yellow piping along the sleeves and the vertical yellow stripes on the front will be eliminated to match their new red jersey.

Also, their horrible two toned blue alternate jersey will remain and the dark blue jersey will be retired.

The Predators officially unveiled their new home uniforms tonight. To the surprise of nobody I would say. It's almost exactly the same as the leaked photo above.
