Geno has a game in hand. Hopefully he can create some space tonight.

Hmmm. Did Geno gain a point or did Stamkos lose one? I thought the margin was 3, but nhl.com shows as 4 over Stamkos and Giroux. Geno has the game in hand on both.

He has a 4 point lead over Stamkos. Maybe they were trying to say Geno really only has a 3 pt lead, because if Stamkos ties him, he is the winner.

Every time I've seen them play, the top line is Parenteau, Moulson, Tavares. The second line was always Grabner, Neilsen and I guess Okposo?

Parenteau has been pretty good on that line.

Yes, he's played almost all year with Tavares...except for at points in the last 20 games or so, Kyle Okposo would take his spot...behold the power of John Tavares, I said it late last year, the summer, early this year...John Tavares is a superstar in this league, not soon, not potential, not one day...right now, this guy is a total star. He takes an absolute scrub, Quadruple-A player in Parenteau and turns him into a guy that at one point was top-5 in assists or thereabouts...that's just tremendous...

It's a shame he re-signed, but Ales Hemsky would have been a terrific fit on that line with Moulson and Tavares...get a real legit NHLer there from the wing dishing to JT...I know he's on a loser, but if you don't watch John Tavares you're missing a special player.

Giroux with 0, so Geno ends night up 9 over Stamkos and Giroux.

That was a huge night for Geno. That 5 pointer was big. And having Giroux get zero was even bigger. And Philly has only 9 games left.

If Geno can stay healthy and average even just a point per game over these next 10, I think he has it. Don't want to speak too soon though, any of these guys are capable of having a huge 4 or 5 pt night.

Even in games with Stamkos, game in hand on Giroux.

It isn't over, as Stamkos plays the Jets twice more, Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto and the Islanders. Pens have the Isles twice. Flyers have Toronto, Montreal and TB.

Yeah, anything can happen, but TBs schedule is much more "scorer" friendly IMO. That's why it's important for Geno to have these types of games when he can.

It would be nice if Geno can keep like a 4 or 5 pt lead going into the last game of the season.

In 12 games, Sid's got more assists than

Cammalari (59 gp)
Umberger (68 gp)
Langkow (65 gp)
Handzus (63 gp)
Duchene (51 gp)

Nuts.

Lesky: I'm very happy it's PR but it's also an overall discussion on the scoring leaders, who's got what stats etc. And you never know before a season if it's going to be PR or not (altough that's always very likely).

PPG a sweet sight for Pens fans:

Crosby 1.75
Malkin 1.43
Giroux 1.22
Stamkos 1.17
Backstrom 1.11
Kovalchuck 1.07
And then no one above 1.03.

Thanks for the Crosby stat updates Andre. Why not make a new thread about it so its easier to find on the main section?

Also, yourself being from Sweden I'm surprised your such a big Penguin fan as we've never really had many Swedish players?

Tampa Bay plays their last game of the season against Winnipeg the night of the Pens/Philly afternoon game. I'll be pretty nervous if Geno doesn't have a big lead going into it.

James Neal caught back up to 1.00. Geno has potential to drag Neal a little further up that chart - maybe 87-90 point range in 82 games.

Geno with 2 more, Giroux with 1, Stamkos with 0.

Unless if one of those guys have a 4-5 pt night, or Geno gets hurt, I feel pretty comfortable with Geno now. He is up 10 vs Giroux (who needs 11 to win), and up 11 against Stamkos (essentially Geno is up 11 against both). And that is in 8 games for Giroux and 9 for Stamkos.

Anything can happen, but I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable.

Neal might have a better shot at catching Stamkos than Stamkos does of catching Geno.

And Geno is making a race of it for the Richard trophy - 5 back.

I keep thinking if he played those 8 games he missed, or he hit some empty netters he missed, he'd be right there with Stamkos.

Stamkos has only scored 1 empty netter, so I bet he's had a few misses too. It all evens out.

Malkin's point total compared to Giroux and Stamkos looks like Usain Bolt pulling away from the pack. If current paces keep up, he's going to win by 2 dozen. If he slows down, he'll still win by double digits.

The Rocket Richard will be the interesting race.

Let's see Geno with a hatty tomorrow here in Ottawa, and that'll put some serious pressure on Stamkos.

Plus, I feel like it's been forever since I've seen a Pens game in person, might as well make it memorable.
