For Sale: Miracle on Ice Sweater. Hmmm.

Reading about Ken Morrow's decision to put his Miracle on Ice sweater up for auction:

Seems a little strange. I can understand reaching a point in life where a player might decide that it is time to part with some of the memorabilia from their career, but this is such a unique and special thing. Wouldn't you want to keep that in your family? Or maybe he needs the cash?

Always thought that Morrow had one of the coolest stories from the 1980 team. He went from receiving an Olympic gold medal the last Sunday in February, to making his NHL debut (vs Pens) the following Sunday, to winning a Stanley Cup just a few months later.

This reminds me of when Mike Webster had to sell his super bowl rings. I guess Morrow still has his blue jersey and all of those memories. No one can really take those away.

I love the story of the 1980 team. One of my best memorabilia items is a replica usa jersey that the entire team signed. It doesn't have herb though.

That was somebody else last year. Without looking it up, I believe it was a defenseman.
