Down Goes Brown @DownGoesBrown

Can’t wait for September when Tim Thomas will no doubt still believe that billionaire business owners should have the right to crush unions.

I probably wouldn't go only for the fact I wouldn't be invited if it weren't for being really good at a hobby.

...today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House... This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

The quote I have does not explain fully. Read the article and it'll make sense.

But he wasn't invited as Tim Thomas, private citizen. He was invited because the team he plays on was.

I don't understand why people are so worried about it. He didn't want to go, so he didn't.

The art of compromise loses again.

The White House is beautiful, I'd go for the private tour.

I see a lot of reasons people think they would go. I have nothing against Obama personally and I have no strong political beliefs. I also have little interest in meeting Obama or ever going to the White House.

Or everyone (the media) wanted to know why he didn't go because he didn't go, so he told them

NHL VP Bill Daly issued a comment. I read it, but for the life of me I can't find it again.

Something to the the effect "Tim Thomas does NOT represent the view of the NHL, he was the right to do this...blah, blah, blah..."

Anyway, I'm guessing the NHL isn't liking it much.

Most corporate setting don't like when you have an opinion. They don't want you to think just obey. Im proud of him for making that statement. I just wish more people were aware of what is actually happening in this country.

Will this little personal protest by Thomas result in some different treatment by fans in Boston and other cities? Will he hear extra cheers from conservatives and boos and scorn from liberals? Whatever it is, he brought it on himself, but he probably took that into consideration.

If you want to see the White House as a tourist, you have to wait in line for several hours and you end up seeing like four rooms. I bet the Bruins will get a better tour than the tourists get.

Wonder if Discover is going to pull the TT/Peggy ad over this? The only one I noticed tonight was the Patrick Kane commercial.

Thomas is moving up my list of favorite people. It's nice to see a player stand up for his rights to not associate with people he doesn't like. And I suppose if I had millions of dollars in the bank, I'd be doing much the same. :)

Lucic beat up an elderly White House employee. When approached by Secret Service, he just wanted to talk it out.
