With or without Toews, Hawks needed another center and the West right now is ultra-competitive already. Connelly is 25 and real productive in the AHL with offense from the blueline, but he's real smallish.

Nah, the Hawks have been looking for a veteran center for a little while now. Morrison is almost redundant in the Calgary line-up...oh, another not-first-line-center? Throw him on the pile with the last 20 years of failure. Surprised they couldn't do anything better than Connelly though...but maybe they see something that I don't (which is quite possible, because I've only seen Connelly a couple times ever).
