Sure looked like the 80s with the way Crawford and Emery were flopping around. Bet he doesn't get another 8 for the rest of the season.

I had to go to sleep after the 2nd period, when he still only had 3 points. :pop:

That is a pretty awesome accomplishment....congrats to Gagner.

No one will ever match or break Darryl Sittler's record, IMO.

This is the record I think our Darryl, aka- Sid, can break!

Sid had 6 against the fly-boys~ loved it!

No disrespect to gagne at all saying it's a fluke. It'd be a fluke if gretzky in his prime did it. Remarkable either way

I watched the third period of that game. Everything he touched turned to goald (see what I did there?). It was wild, every shift he was on the ice he got a point.

That'd be pretty impressive considering he's a career ~.6 ppg player and at the rapid growth phase of his career agewise.

I don't really think it was a fluke when Gretzky or Mario did it... those guys consistently were scoring 3, 4, 5 points a night, every once in a while a 6, 7, or 8 point night happened

Gagner consistently scores 0 or 1 points a night, every once in a while 2 or 3 happens

I think it's funny how all the talking heads on Twitter were saying how this performance takes him off the trade market, Darren Dreger said he's proven he's a number two center. I mean really, because of one game? If anything, shouldn't this give Edmonton more reason to think about trading him since someone might be more inclined to overpay based off the hype from this? 26% of his points this season came last night. Even with last night he's still only on the same ~50 point pace he's been on his whole career. Contrast that to some of his teammates like Hall, Eberle, and the Nuge who have all progressed much more rapidly.

Yeah, if EDM can find a taker TODAY, they should absolutely pull the trigger. His value is never going to be higher than it is right now.

It gives them reason to play eberle or hall with him. The talent has always been there and he has pretty much always been counted to be a one man line. He's like 23 now, it would be dumb to get rid of him when you have a chance to have two pretty nicely balanced lines of kids all under 25.

Coming on a bit strong with the numbers there, but I see your point.

Edmonton really messed this one up. Only has 2 goals and an assist tonight, weak game for him. They missed a big chance to trade him and get something valuable but they blew it..
