Ecklund tweeted it. I don't believe it until I see someone else.

Also if that's the case, good on the Kings and Columbus for both figuring out their goalie situation with one move.

If they dropped Penner then that's addition by subtraction already as far as I'm concerned.

Funny story...I tried this trade in NHL 12 like 2 weeks ago (I'm LA). Columbus told me that they didn't want to deal their superstar. So, I traded Richards to Nashville for Weber and Penner + a few 1st round picks to Pittsburgh for Letang.

Awesome. I enjoy his ridiculous rumors, though.

I mean, isn't it fun to think about a Penguins team made up of semi-stars, mostly injured, who in no way would fit under the cap?

Best tweet I've seen about this whole thing, so far:

"Sources tell me Rick Nash has been traded to the Ducks for Jesse Hall, Guy Germaine, Les Averman and rights to holdout Dean Portman (3MI5)"

Bernier would make all kinds of sense considering Quick is a monster and Columbus needs someone who has some kind of talent still.

This trade makes too much sense for both teams to actually happen. IDK the Kings Cap situation now or in a few years however..

Dave Hodge - TSN @TSNDaveHodge
Rick Nash says he will veto any trade to a team that is worse than Columbus.

NYR is going to end up getting him

Some combination of young NHL players (Dubinsky, Stepan, Staal, McDonagh), + prospects + picks

The return for nash is probably 2 young NHL players (age 20-25 or so), 1 high-level prospect, 1 first round pick, another draft pick
