Ha, well they typically save it for the post-season.

I wonder if any team is really willing to give up much for Nash.

That's essentially my point. Rick Nash has a soft spot for being on teams that are going nowhere.

Maybe he feels he's the missing piece?

I really don't know if there are any morons left. If they pull a 1st and a top end player, someone is really stupid.

I have to avoid the word idiot around here. :pop:

So, THN has a few deals that could make the trade for Nash reality.

NYR would trade: Stepan or McDonough, prospect Kreider, and Dubinsky.
BOS would trade: Rask, Krejci or Lucic, Dougie Hamilton, and 1st.

Ok, that seems to be a lot...

Geeze. The Boston deal crushes the NYR deal.
Both team would be dumb to do this.

I'm surprised Washington hasn't been mentioned as a destination for Nash. GM GM hates trading prospects, but I could see him (and Leonsis) making a go at Nash to upgrade their star power. I could also see them gong after Carter if Nash didn't want to go to DC.

They'd need to move Semin to make cap space (or wait until the offseason), but a package of Hotlby + Alzner or Carlson + 1st would be just the fit.

just heard on xtra sports 690 here in so cal that the kings offer is:
Jonathan Bernier, Jack Johnson, Andrei Loktionov plus a pick for Rick Nash

which in my opinion... is really stupid.

Loktionov is not having a very good year stats-wise, Columbus needs a goalie, and Jack Johnson isn't that good of a defenseman.

Columbus would have to be brain dead to not take it, because no matter what, they're getting a goalie better than Steve Mason.

I think they could get a goalie for carter instead. Carter to LA for Bernier, Loktionov/Voynov

Although if they could seriously get rask AND krejci AND dougie hamilton AND a 1st for nash that'd be an absolute no-brainer

I don't think Boston would be that quick to give up Rask and/or Hamilton.

Plus, I'm not sure of many teams that would actually want a Jeff Carter (the ego)

Everything i have read says that Boston will absolutely not trade Rask. I sort of doubt that Boston makes a deal for any high profile player(and $$$) like Nash anyway as that goes against their philosophy.

As far as Carter goes, Kings could get more for that package of players than a Carter.

Just heard on NHL Radio on SiriusXM that the Nashville Predators are close to trading for Rick Nash. 3 Players (1 including Ellis) and 1st rounder.

We shall see, depending on the deal coming back. I'm thinking if there is a deal with Nashville, it's not in CBJs favor.

Wow. Hard to imagine Nashville having the pieces to get it done unless there is a trade and sign of Ryan Suter, which seems completely out of the question.

Lindback, Wilson, Ellis, 1st?

Buccigross is reporting Rangers are offering Dubinsky, AHL dman Tim Erixson and first round pick for Nash.

Preds deal might not be a done deal.

I'm a Nash hater but that is just not enough for Columbus. They can't sell that to their fans.
