i wouldn't wear it so that probably says i think it's racist enough. i wouldn't want to invite any potential issues. but i also don't think it's meant to be offensive in any way. i would think the guy that wore that thought to himself, hey, i like simmonds, i'm not racist, so i'll take a chance on the joke. it's pretty stupid though.

there doesn't seem to be any statement being made about simmonds, other than he is, in fact, the black guy. would anyone care if someone got a dirk nowitzki jersey that said "The White Guy"? shouldn't this be the same thing? in fact, by being offended by this, you are implying that being the black guy is something offensive... it's ok for simmonds to be a black hockey player, and it's ok for fans of simmons to appreciate that he his a black hockey player.

I don't think it's racist either. Just think it's meant for reaction, which it obviously gets. I doubt the guy likes Simmonds any more than the other players. He did it for reaction... so be it.

I would definitely say that it's a jersey foul simply because it's a waste of money. Even with unlimited funds, I don't think I'd go and do something like that.
