i'm fine with 1 game, but i'm kind of tired of people comparing this to what malkin and neal did.

not the same.

Kevin Paul Dupont ‏ @GlobeKPD
Upon reading Giroux's suspension, Ovechkin, in full whistle, went for walk to local graveyard.

In all honesty, while there are a lot of Flyers fans that are convinced there is a bias against them, the more respectable Philly bloggers are taking a very sane approach to this. Travis Hughes and Geoff Detwiler, two of the main guys at Broad Street Hockey, are saying it was deserved and to stop complaining. I would say most are accepting of the punishment, albeit enormously frustrated. Definitely a large contingent that is absolving Giroux of all blame, though.

The fact that there are Flyers fans that are convinced there is a conspiracy against them illustrates how utterly ridiculous conspiracy theories are in general.

All I know is if NJ doesn't close this out in Game 5. I'm worried that Philly will go nuts and use this as a rally point.

Absolutely. This makes Game 5 all the more crucial.

Geez, watching the entire play from when Giroux has his hissy fit to the end, pretty ridiculous. What a baby.

Giroux has been AWOL the entire series vs the devils any ways.
Other than on special teams he and the Flyers haven't done squat this entire post season.
Bye bye criers. Yep just like the Caps every year... beating the Pens does not equate to winning the CUP.

One game is suitable and I'm stunned that Shanahan got it right.
But it was plain as day. Giroux intended on hurting someone. And actually HIT Zubrus.

Neal got a game for making Giroux duck (contact with his head never occurred).
So there is no consistency.

And Flyers fans rant because Crosby gets into a tussle after the whistle???... simply laughable.
Girly is the perfect replacement for Mike Richards as Captain. Way to take charge of that sinking ship shrimpy orange haired lil twit. Do yourself a favor and go shave.

Some people seriously think the hit was clean because Giroux didn't leave his feet. Learn the rules, you *kittening* *kittens*.

Who cares if it's the playoffs. The video was great. Shanahan broke down how Giroux did this to retaliate after he took a totally clean hit from a Devils player. He was upset that there was no call. Then he didn't care to play the puck, he just wanted to get his revenge. Well, now he gets to sit a game. He picked Zubrus' head. What a cheap shot. For anyone to compare this to Malkin's hit on Grossman is ridiculous.

If Claude wasn't throwing a fit and turning his back on the play before the hit he probably would have just gotten fined. It almost seemed like he was daring the refs. But hey, Crosby's the complainer, Giroux just gets frustrated, amirite.

Does anyone have a video of Brodeur touching the puck behind the goalline, which apparently sent Giroux off?

Empty Netters wore him out on Twitter about #PierreLogic - some funny stuff there. My favorite - "Saddam Hussein's feet never left the ground... (until the very end.) #PierreLogic"

Shanny's narrative is very telling. He does a very professional job there and shows Giroux's unsportsmanlike actions without specifically calling him on it. I thought that might be the best video he's done. Especially running though the fact that Zubrus' head position never changes through the play - a lot of Flyer fans were saying it was Zubrus' fault for being bent over.

It looked like rollerball - he targeted him, chased him down, then went for the head.

It was not a hockey play. That was on purpose - that was assault. And why? A 'perceived' injustice.

One game? Thank god they at least admitted he's not the most perfectest player in nhl history. I'm sure shanny called him crying and apologizing.

I think the point of this one is, keep your damn composure instead of headhunting because every little thing didnt go your way.

Went to the Cryers board to see what was being said. Total meltdown, though I can understand that. They're fans afterall.

One thing I can say is that, for as much as I swear, I'm glad this place is a family board. No need for that language on a message board, to me it shows a lack of critical thinking

Yeah, I am sure in the heat of battle it is easier said than done, but they have to try and contol the anger.
