Pavelec: DUI, 1 year probation, 20 month driving ban

Postby Tomas on Mon Jul 16, 2012 3:41 pm

Crashed his car on May 26 in Kladno. The level of alcohol: 0.2 (i.e 2.5 times the US limit, though the Czech Republic has zero tolerance limit for alcohol). The sentence (naturally) does not carry over to Canada/USA.

Oh wait, I guess it's measured in per cent and not in per mill...

Yep. 2.0 using "European scales" (permille); 0.2 in terms of US limits.

If they have zero tolerance, no difference between one beer and one bottle of 151. It's not worth winning if you can't win big.

If you are an American with a DUI and want to visit Canada good luck! It is a felony up there and they will not allow you for 5-10 years. After 5 years you can apply to state that you are rehabilitated.

But if you are an NHL player and get a DUI its not problem...
