Cote's skate catches him in the face to draw the blood. Not sure about the real injury. All the best Blake. Tough hockey lineage...his great grandfather (Howie Morenz) broke his leg during a game and died from the complications, his grandfather (Boom Boom Geoffrion) was involved in a stick-swinging incident with two-way left winger from the 50's and 60's Ron Murphy and once was involved in a collision with a defensive specialist winger Andre Pronovost that I believe ruptured his spleen (if I'm remembering right) that nearly took his life...injury of the emotional variety (bruised egos can be career threatening), Blake's father Dan was a top-10 pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the late 70's and with his father behind the bench, he failed to score a goal with Montreal, played for the Jets right after the merger but once all the talent started to even out, he couldn't hack it in the show and retired very young as a result instead of working his way back up through the minors...now Blake with this severe head injury from former Canadien farmhand J.P. Cote...pretty rough going for 80 years here...
