Adam Oates (known for his offensive genius and resurrective ability second only to Jesus Christ) has posed this very question to Leonard Susskind and, via seance, the ghost of Werner Heisenberg (Oates had requested Galileo but he's in hell). He was informed by Susskind that Holtby has a holomorphic multi-field stochastic that is unquantifiable and therefore not privy to predictive analysis.

Heisenberg (replying through a Mrs. Krupniki) disagreed, suggesting that Holtby -like his teammate Alex Ovechkin- is a nonstandard, non-gaussian variable. The genius Oates was not surprised having already ascertained this through his own analysis with assistance from Chuck Gormley. However the only conclusion to be drawn is that Gormley feels very strongly that the formerly deceased Ovechkin will capture the Hart Trophy.

See, that's what I thought. So, we can't use the Beninati Coefficient either.

Man...I wish Winnipeg wasn't terrible. I was pulling harder for them tonight than I have for any team this year (except the Pens vs. Philly)...

Me too. Really disappointing effort by them. Is Byfuglien really that bad with the puck?

We need to keep in mind that the Jets are still the Thrashers. Changing jerseys doesn't change the organization.

It's especially rough for him because he's so lax with his conditioning...so playing 30 minutes on back to back nights with no support (no Bogosian or Enstrom), he just can't do it. He's not an amazing passer, I mean, he can whip the puck around, don't get me wrong...but he has some of the lowest hockey IQ in the league, so he doesn't see things develop, he just gets a head of steam and just goes as far as he can on skill...he's pretty much a bender...

It's a shame really...the Jets just suck so bad...but nearly won a division in the East (what does that say about this conference 8-) ). They're bad, but I was hoping they wouldn't collapse under a Capital surge...they could have scored two goals into empty nets in the first period too...and they just suck too much...

I think it just says the Southeast has always been a bad division, that's never been a secret....

Now official. End of Jan, Bolts led SE Division. End of Feb, Canes led SE. End of March, Jets led SE. End of April, Caps clinch SE

They virtually eliminated any chance of playing a team they can beat last night.

Let's see what happens.

I believe the bottom 5 are only teams with a shot at the top pick, right?

If that's true, Flyers clinch a non bottom 5 spot with a win and any type of Nashville and Carolina loss (I think).

That's the race I'm watching. :fist:

For what its worth, new starting this year, any team that misses the playoffs has a chance at the top pick. So yes, a team like Detroit or Philly could get Seth Jones or Mackkinnon or Drouin.. and thats kinda crazy.

The odds are not in their favor, but thats the new way they're doing it.

Team 1 25.0%
Team 2 18.8%
Team 3 14.2%
Team 4 10.7%
Team 5 8.1%
Team 6 6.2%
Team 7 4.7%
Team 8 3.6%
Team 9 2.7%
Team 10 2.1%
Team 11 1.5%
Team 12 1.1%
Team 13 0.8%
Team 14 0.5%
