Jonathan Quick is really really really good. It takes perfect plays to beat him.

Kopitar just got nailed with a slap shot in the face. It may have knocked him unconscious as well.

Kopitar just took a puck to the jaw just like Crosby! Oh my! I think I saw teeth falling in the replay.

If all home teams win their respected series. The final four will consist of the last four Stanley Cup Champions.

I hate the over the glass delay of game penalty more than anything. It's one if the only penalties called in the last few minutes and overtime and it decides so many games. Change it to icing rules or something, where they can't change the players that were on the ice.

When did goalies who "never give up on a puck" become a thing? That seems to be the cliched phrase that all the pundits are using this year. I've already heard Melrose use it numerous times as well as the NBC guys.

If Ovi was a goalie he would definately give up on a puck from time to time.

I swear there is a new phrase every few years that goes from never being heard to everyone using it. I swear a never heard someone say net front presence before Bylsma and now everyone says it. Its to the point that i'm convinced i'm just crazy.

A) Don't listen to Melrose. He's clueless.
B) The cliche is kind of an indictment of the butterfly style that has taken over. Some goalies just stop, drop and hope. So any rebound or pass back against the grain, they just kind of sit there like a lump on a log. Some, well, most, goalies will battle for pucks to keep them out. But some pure butterfly goalies just have one mode...

I think it's part lazy journalism and part wanting to sound like you know what you are talking about. So, certain phrases become overused. I notice this a ton in the NFL i.e. "exotic blitzes".

I watch NHL network and they often have Melrose on. I just think its funny because physics dictates that certain shots are never going to be stopped no matter how hard a goalie tries. Although, I understand never giving up is a good quality for an athlete to have.
