Historic Hockey Line

Can the line 'finish your check' be attributed to a single team, coach, or player?

When you look at games in the 70's and 80's, players were not checking opposing players into the board 1-2 seconds after the player no longer had the puck, so it would seem like it a style of play that started over the past 20 years.

That's a good point. I can't think of when this started.
