I hate seeing Moore take penalties like that. He should know better. Then again, this is just his second year in the league.

This is one of the worst games I've seen Melichar play. Both goals are on him to some degree.

Can't fault Melichar too much on that one. He had two Flyers on his side of the crease. Armstrong and Gonchar were on Richards, but neither could stop him.
EDIT: And now I see on the replay Recchi standing around watching.
The odd thing is, both wings were down low. Where was the center?

That was a terrific play by Richards, very strong on the puck that time. However, if you have 2 guys to cover and you fail to cover either of them...well...

You can fault him with a clear concious, he let an easily clearable puck go through the crease. Doesn't matter if it was one guy or five, he didn't cut the centering pass off like a competant defenseman should.

I don't think so. The Moore penalty was at 3:40. The goal was scored at 6:26.

And the Staal goal proved my point, he can play an solid NHL game if his linemates are slower but puck control guys. Staal had a great shift with Oulet and Leclair, they all run a north-south game and will eventually get a chance. Now Malkin is too fast for Ouelet and leclair. At what point will Therrien just do the smart thing and move Malkin back to Crosvy's wing and Staal as the 2nd center with some wings who play his tempo?

Therrian putting some BIG bodies out there and watching them forecheck well.

Ouellet just made a very nice defensive play in his own end.

My theory is that they are getting him acustomed to playing the wing right now. It's alittle bit different positionally so it will take a few more games I'll wager.

So that's why his best shift was at center with Leclair and Oulet?

With about 3:30 to go Therrien finally gets his head out of his ass and plays Malkin adn Crosby together and they generate a good scoring chamce. What took him so long?
