Theres talk about Kings series scattered throughout different threads, so I figured I just start this one. Apparently he's not done with the series...
Stephen has given me permission to pass along that he has an idea for a new Dark Tower book, the working title of which will be THE WIND THROUGH THE KEYHOLE. He has not yet started this book and anticipates that it will be a minimum of eight months before he is able to begin writing it.
Apparently this will take place between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of the Calla.

Seriously? Not sure how I feel about this.
What could possibly have happened between IV and V?
I'm so into this series I'll definitely read it though.

I guess the transition from the books happened when he was hit by the car and almost died and that's where the "tone" of the books changed. I'm not sure what he could add, but i'm all for more Roland!

Not sure how I feel about this. Love the series as a whole, but was really let down by the meta-fiction aspects of the last 2.5 books. I don't know about adding another book in the middle of the series, and you certainly couldn't add a book to the end. Wouldn't be opposed to a prequel.

Wizard and Glass practically is a prequel. If you want more to the story pre Gunslinger, check out the graphic novels. They are actually pretty great.

I've read the comics. I guess I think there'd be more story to tell between wizard & glass and the start of the gunslinger than inbetween wizard & glass and wolves if the calla.

We are thinking of getting another dog next year or the year after. We have a whippit (sp) now and while it's a cute dog, it's a bit small for us. We have a big house and would like a big dog. I would love to name the next dog Oy but I read that it is best to name a dog a 2 syllable word with an "ee" sound at the end. I dunno, should just get a mutt and name him Oy!

There would be plenty of stories to put in the early times with Cuthbert, Alain amd Roland. I really liked the story of Roland's early years.

The best thing about Stephen King is how all of his books are intertwined. From characters to places, you can see references to other books constantly. And a LOT of these references center around the Dark Tower series.

They want to make THE GUNSLINGER into a motion picture (most likely at Universal) and then continue the series as a long-form TV series.
and it looks like the writer(Akiva Goldsman) of Batman and Robin is writing this....

The big issue with this is jake is supposed to be 12 yrs old through the entire series. Whichever child actor they got to play him would get older as the series went on, and wouldn't make a lot of sense for the viewer.

Im usually for book to film adaptations just so I can see it, but this makes me sick.
The ONLY way I think Dark Tower can go to film is in the media of animation.
