IOC vs FC vs PTIG
STARTING GOALIES
IOC
Mario Lemieux

FC
Ed Rendell
Gov of PA...hates Pittsburgh
PTIG
Unknown
The underdog.
This is a fight for an Arena and a city....everyone knows who should win, but Fast Eddie has different ideas.
Philly's own even says...Give IoC the Slots License.

Only 18 more hours until the public forumn starts.
Whoever said that they think their will be riots tomorrow if the IOC doesnt win, I'm sure no one will care outside of this board and a few other Pens fans.

Depends if Pens fans show up. I have a funny feeling they might.

Today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow's Christmas as far as I'm concerned. The only question is will it be a christmas of fun and family. A christmas where we can hear the carolers singing outside while we open gifts. Or, will it be a christmas where all the gifts suck, mom's drunk at 9 am and daddy doesn't show up because he decided to spend it with his new nineteen year-old girlfriend.
It's all up to you, PGCB, do you really want to ruin another christmas????

Andy Conte from the Trib was just on Tim Benz’s show…Conte has been covering the slots process for the Trib since Lemieux was a rookie (or at least it's felt like it's been that long since this started).
Anyway, I got what I could out of this. Conte sounded like he was on his thirtieth cup of coffee. Needless to say, he was talking a lot faster than I could type.
- How does this work tomorrow?
Conte said he met with the board not long ago. Board went into a separate meeting room this afternoon to discuss all aspects of the slots license applicants, almost like a jury deliberating a court case. At 10:00 AM tomorrow, they reconvene in front of the media and will then likely announce all of their decisions.
- This is the part I'm not sure of, so if I'm wrong someone correct me. I believe he said an agreement must be reached between five of the seven. If I heard this correctly, four legislative members and one gubernatorial candidate must agree.
- The decision will very likely be made tomorrow. Conte said he was told BY THE BOARD that the decision will almost certainly be made tomorrow.
- Kevin McCabe (legislative appointee) and Sanford Rivers (gubernatorial appointee) are both from Pittsburgh. The rest are from the Eastern side of the state – either northeastern (WB/S area) or the general Philly/Allentown areas.
- Hearing is scheduled for 10:00 AM. We should know relatively quickly (before noon) as to what is going on. Trib is planning to release an afternoon edition announcing the winner.
Like I said, I had to try and pick stuff up quickly because Conte was just flying through some of this stuff, and the interview was kind of tough to hear. Hopefully this offers a bit of insight to some of this stuff.

An IoC cheer at the game would be great.

if anybody going to the game could get an IOC chant going, that would be great. I'm not suggesting it's going to help anything, but it would be awesome to hear.

I'll be at the game tonight (first row of F1, fat guy, white Crosby jersey if anyone wants to stop up and say hi). I'll see what I can do because we can get pretty damn loud up there and something tells me the building won't exactly be crawling with rabid Blues fans.
