Cole Karma?

Anyone remember the Hurricane Penguin game on December 16, 2001?

Eric Cole's rookie year?

9 minutes into the third period, the Canes were destroying the Pens 5-0. Kovalev was skating at center ice and Cole takes a running start and destroys Kovalev blindsided starting a series of fights the rest of the game. I was thinking somebody needs to teach that punk a lesson. The Canes spent the rest of the game on the power play and won 7-0.

The difference was that Cole's hit was totally clean. Hence the reason the Canes were on the power play the rest of the game.

Kudos to the Pens for standing up for Kovalev, but if I remember correctly Cole didn't even get penalized - it was just a big time clean open ice check...

In a bigger twist, not only is Cole injured by Orpik, but Recchi is aquired by the Canes to fill Cole's spot on the roster...
