Boardwalk Empire

Postby llipgh2 on Sun Sep 19, 2010 10:18 pm

Anyone watch this tonight? It was extremely good.

I'm a big fan of Martin Scorsese, and Steve Buscemi. And together they are awesome.

Shut up, Donnie. You're out of your element.

Didn't catch it, but anything with Buscemi works for me.

Pretty solid... potential for sure. Which sucks for me because that's a bunch of shows to watch already on top of that, hah.

What it the show led you to believe that Chicago was behind the killing of that guy in his restaurant at the end?

Spoiler:
If you noticed earlier, when they were all meeting with Nucky, Al Capone was the driver for the restauranter/mafioso and the shorter mafioso. The shorter one who keep having to explain clams as the joke.

Later, when Al Capone delivered the hijacked Canadian Club in Chicago, it was to the shorter mafioso. I'm guessing they teamed up to have the guy in the restaurant whacked.

very solid

is this just a miniseries-type thing or is it a full-blown, several season thing?

Man, I feel stupid. I don't really know who anyone is, who's on which side, etc. I usually do photo editing while I watch TV, this show seems like one I need to concentrate on. I'll have to watch the premiere again before episode 2 airs.

I thought it was very good. There are some mysterious storylines being developed with Buscemi peering into the maternity ward, the fortune teller, and his interest in the Irish woman.

Maybe its a cross between The Sopranos and Carnivale.

It was good.

Best movies/shows always seems to flock to older eras.

IMDB only has Isabelle in 6 episodes - everyone else is 5 and under. Which I find kind of curious.

Loved it. They are being somewhat factual and used a lot of period authenticity. I never heard of Nucky but he was based on a real character. The reason and method of Colissimo's murder (ordered by Torrio) was true to life. The only thing I didn't agree with was that most accounts I've seen said Capone was the actual triggerman.

The History channel has had some great shows on the prohibition crime era
