The only problem that I would have with sharing an affiliate is goalie development, which I consider the most important thing that an ECHL affiliate offers. If you want your goalie prospects to get games in, it's not always going to happen if the head coach has to play politics in order to keep two masters happy.
It is a cost saving thing. Problem is like with the Edmonton/Pens agreement, one teams prospects always suffer. In that case I think Edmonton's prospects suffered.netwolf wrote:I don't think it's very common, but it does happen. Wilkes Barre took on 5 or so prospects from Edmonton at one point.
