Should I play the game now, or wait for the download? I'm worried that I'll go passed a point where there is an extra mission and have to start the game over again to play it right.

Fallout:New Vegas

The reviews for this game were disappointing, to put it mildly. Said that it was so glitchy and buggy it wasn't fun to play. Let me know what you think

Kind of stuck in a difficulty bind with NHL Slapshot. On "All-Star" difficulty I can win games 7-1, 6-2. On "Superstar" difficulty, my goaltender can't stop anything, and all of my checks bounce off of the opposing player who doesn't even break stride or lose the puck, so I lose 4-0 or 5-1.

I wish there were some sliders so I could adjust that sort of thing.

I've been enjoying Slapshot, and I hope the rosters are decent when the come out next week. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the game played. It's missing things like on the fly line changes (i.e. the fourth line rarely sees the ice), but gameplay is very smooth. I don't bother with the stick (my son skates around the house with it while I play, lol). It does need some sliders to get the difficulty options smoothed out.

I also finally got around to Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the PC. Steam had it for $30, so I picked it up in anticipation for the Vietnam add-on later this year. Good game, not great. Single player is fun, multiplayer is interesting.

Nice....the initial reviews sounded bad, but I'm happy to hear that. I am sure they will work out some of the bugs with patches.

Has anyone downloaded the RDR Expansion Undead Invasion? RDR with zombies does sound pretty hilarious/amazing.

Just finished the single player campaign in the new Medal of Honor.

Thought the story telling was fantastic; the playing characters were stitched together in a way that actually made it feel cohesive. I really liked that, made for a more immersive experience. For example, one mission you are the gunner in an Apache attack helicopter. After you're done, you start bugging out back to base in a cut scene, and halfway through you get lit up by a guy manning a AAA battery. Just as he's about to shoot you in the face, his head goes pop from sniper fire. The helicopters continue on about their business, then the cut scene shifts to a POV through a sniper scope and you are now a special operator sniping bad guys on a ridge line. And the sound design in the game was brilliant, maybe the best I've ever experienced in a shooter. The canyons and mountains of Afghanistan really make for some cool audio environments.

Only complaint was that the game was about half as long as it should have been. And the ending was kind of a bummer, too, but that's okay. Sometimes stories end in bummy ways.

Overall, I liked it about as much as Modern Warfare (maybe a skosh less) but definitely liked it better than MW2.

Played the first two levels [of Medal of Honor] so far. I think it's ok, the framerate dropping is annoying as all hell. Also, I'll be starting up Batman Arkham Asylum tonight. I heard it was awesome, so I'm excited to play it.

Didn't have any framerate issues, but it took me a week to get the game up and running on my PC; some weird conflict with AVG was preventing the cut scene halfway through the first level from kicking off. So I could play the first 10 minutes or whatever, then the game would just stop. I could run around and shoot stuff, but I couldn't do anything to get the order to open the door to start the cut scene.

EA's customer service directed me to ign.com, because they (EA) didn't handle 'game play issues'.

Grrrrrrrr.

You'll love Arkham. It's a richly detailed and realized world, and the combat system is pretty good. I found the mini-boss battles to be pretty tough, too. Can't wait for the sequel.
