plus i'm still curious as to why shaf felt the need to deflect a thg bandwagon. could be nothing, but not sure why he would care enough to make a point to nip a thg vote in the bud.

Troy, you were dead on all game. My strategy this game was to throw out votes right at the start of each day and see if anyone came up suspicious and then investigate. I checked redwill the first night, then thg. After the thg vote didn't take off I was trying to decide between shaf (for his deflection) and kraftster (for his long-winded answers) who to investigate and went with shaf.

Turned out to be a dumb strategy on my part because I put too much heat on myself by voting for guys that ended up being bad.

i guess i was trying to play a pretty simple strategy this game. that post i made to kraftster about why i was voting shaf kind of explains it. I was blue this game, my goal is to try and find a way to indicate to the village that i'm blue so they know that, so then i become only a target of the reds, and at that point that prevents an rp from getting killed if they choose to kill me. On the first day, one doesnt have any incentive to not just bandwagon the first name that is thrown out there...if several names are thrown out you really have no reason not to jump back and forth because you don't know any identiites and can only hope a red is pointed out.

while shad didn't have the implied incentive to deflect a thg bandwagon, he still did. at that point he exhibited a preference for killing one person over another. i think thats a tell because if i'm a villager i'm not posing a defense for someone that i have no clue about, but a red has two motives to potentially do that, 1. the person could be red and they just want to try and start a different bandwagon, or they just know this person is not bad so they're feel maybe they can point back at that and say they didnt take part in the killing of a villager.

either way, that indicates a stance of knowing more than the other players and the only people that know whos bad and whos good are the bad people.

so the only person with any sort of incentive to deflect a bandwagon is a red the first day. i understand people do it all the time, but as a villager that can get you killed...because as stated, i dont think anyone has any incentive to do that except a red. so instead of working to indicate to the village that your blue, your instead indicating that you have the incentive to defend someone....ie a tell.

i think a lot of times its just luck. when one of the reds get implicated its usually disaster. but that sucks as a red when two people have investigations at night, i think what happens too often in these instances where there is a defined bad grounp and a defined "independent" faction. the independent faction will typically side with the village and end up helping them out...odds were way too stacked against the reds in this game...i think bhaw and canaan should have maybe cut down the total number of people needed and found more characters to give out...maybe give people more alliances...

yeah me too...that's why i get so pissed when the reds win and i'm part of the village.

Yeah, it was tough to know what to do with so many yellows. Two were dead and we knew that Zaro was yellow. I thought there might even be another one.

Our kill the night Zaro blocked was between Zaro and Troy. Knew Zaro was something that could be a threat but didn't know his exact role. I thought Troy was blue or the Vig (thought he might have gone for the thg kill based on the shaf/thg link he made). Also Troy was sort of leading the village, so, there was consideration as to how eliminating that may help/hurt. For me it came down to the fact that I didn't think Troy was too hot on slappy or I, so, we figured we'd keep him around to hopefully follow for another two days before I could kill again, then take out Troy. I did give some thought to crippling the village by taking out Troy because honestly no one else was talking at all it seemed. It didn't matter in the end because Zaro would have blocked me either way.

I didn't even think for a second someone else was out there that could see. That was a nice twist. I'm glad the village didn't fall for Zaro being all benevolent, though -- after he outed me I was at least hoping yellow wouldn't win if slappy got zapped.

It was funny, I was scheming about which name to use as a blue that could be a minor RP that might not have been in the game. I settled on Tommy literally 2 minuets before Zaro posted that Juice was tommy. I knew we were screwed then because even if I could convince people that I was Tommy, the game wasn't active enough that there'd be seven votes before Juice showed up.

The reds or yellow killing each other so early was not a smart move if they knew they were doing it to each other.

Haha, I think Zaro knew he was lying (see also "I have two of all these powers"). That would not have made sense with three yellows and the village definitely agreed with that.

It was a lie. I knew I had to outlast everyone to win with BCS and thg dead. I figured my best bet was to come out guns blazing against krafster and align myself with the village. I figured blocking krafster was the best thing to do the night before. I didn't know all the characters in the movie so I used the one given. Figured I would be as truthful as possible.

Slappy being red was just an educated guess on my part. I was hoping the vig would give me a pass for a few days until I could kill them. I was going to use my protects on odd nights when I guessed the reds could kill. C2I killed me before I had the chance. It was a long shot but I wanted to try.

Now I'm screwed, though, with my history of being long-winded. I am long-winded in general, and now when I don't play that way I'm being quiet. But being long-winded is inherently suspicious to some people. Boo.

Seemed a little different this time though, because you had like 5 or 6 posts in short time span and threw out a bunch of different theories.

I called him out on that at the very beginning too. If he would have gave one long answer to one theory, then it would have just blown over my head. But he just kept giving many theories in a row, like he was trying too hard.
