Oh yeah! I love their live stuff. But they aren't by definition a Jam Band. They're way too awesome to be a jam band.

I'm not sure what the definition of Jam Band is, but Cream should be amongst the pioneers along with the Dead, Airplane, Traffic, etc... Just because they didn't do it like Phish, doesn't mean they are not a jam band.

I enjoy the music, but could do without a lot of the fans, I know they pay the bills, but man alive, talk about annoying

Are you talking about live jam shows/sessions? Cause they can get pretty irritating. If I'm gonna listen to Jam Music I like to be by myself, with the stereo blasting, relaxing on the couch/bed.

yeah, talking about the live show. I went up to Vermont for the "final" Phish weekend event and oh man, what an experience, never seen so many annoying people at one place.

Did anyone else think KC and the Sunshine Band were black before they saw a photo?

Hmm...

Obviously, the Dead.

Going off of bands i've seen: Phish. moe. Always enjoy seeing Perpetual Groove. Soulive. Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, depending on the show (tends to jam a lot at festivals)... The Slip, MMW, My Morning Jacket (again, depends on where they're playing), Keller Williams, The Bridge, Lotus, Dark Star Orchestra (Dead tribute band), Oysterhead, Derek Trucks Band, Umphrey's McGee, John Mayer Trio, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Tea Leaf Green, Yonder Mountain...

I don't sit around and listen to jam bands, but they can definitely be a good time if you get in the right atmosphere and avoid the spaced out dosers.

What is the definition of a Jam Band?

I saw tea leaf green once and thought they were pretty bad. I hate the dead, phish, and OAR. Oh, and I don't particularly like weed eithor. So I guess jam bands are just wannabe musicians?

KC pretty sweet...along with Peaches and Herb.

Lunchman recently went to "Furthur" concert (Bob Weir/Phil Lesh of Grateful Dead, dude from DSO and others) in Reading, PA. Incredible show. Excellent jam/tune balance.

I'm amused that two pages in, no one has mentioned Dave Matthews Band.

Not a fan myself, but he fills his shows, so I'm surprised by the omission.
