The big names were Burnett, Gorzellany, Eldred, Rajai Davis and Yurendell DeCaster.
I'm not entirely surprised here. Duckworth is emerging as a potential #5, and barring a trade, it looks like Snell may actually have the inside track to the #4 spot since Vogey has pitched his way back into the bullpen. Nice to see they've finally started to see Snell the way the rest of the league has pretty much seen him. That all made it possible to send Burnett down, which I think is the right course of action for now. If they rushed Burnett and something happened, it could set him back another two years and they can't afford that.
Eldred was batting a stellar .186 when he got sent down. Looks like someone still needs some work. Looks like that Casey trade was a good idea.
I wonder if Jim Tracy chooses to go the Lou Brown route and use the "red ticket in the locker" approach to let players know they're on their way to the minor league camp. I'm almost positive that Mac didn't. Mac would've brought Terry Tate, Office Linebacker in to deliver the roster cuts news.
