Keurig K Cups

Postby FreeCandy44 on Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:52 pm

Recently my fiance had her bridal shower and we registered for this wonderful invention. Anyone recommend good flavored coffee k cups? or maybe a good place to get them online for cheap? Espically hot apple cider...yum.

Not sure if it's the cheapest, but we buy from CoffeeCow.com a lot. They have a lot of different varieties. I love the Keurig machine.

I typically use Amazon and get Donut Shop coffee for around $25 for a box of 50.

Ours did that for about 2 months, gradually getting worse.
Apparently in the manual it says to descale it every few months. :pop:

"De-scaling the brewer
The brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar. "

Me and the fiancee got a Keuring coffee maker at our bridal shower about a month ago, and I love it. My favorites are definitely the French Vanilla, Cafe Mocha, Hazelnut, and the English Breakfast Tea.

So this thing is highly recommended? The fiancee and I got one as well, I wanted a large cup maker and she wanted a single cup maker. I lost.

I think a coffee pot makes marginally better coffee but the convenience of the keurig outweighs it

I disagree b/c you can't get the instant variety. We always have one big container of coffee. If I'm home and want something different, I'm screwed. I think the quality is the same. I guess it depends on how good of quality the coffee is you buy for a regular coffee pot.

We have the Keurig at work. I just started drinking coffee more regularly (not every day yet), so I like to dabble in flavors.

There is a Mocha Nut Fudge that is pretty good every once in a while.

Black Tiger is a favorite among our sales teams. The client services peeps go for the lighter roasts.

Timothys Italian Blend. A great smooth medium roast. Did I say it's smooth?

I've developed a taste for plain black coffee, flavored or not. It makes getting coffee so much easier.
