http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=375241Let the wild speculation commence.
Edit: This of course already discussed in "Crosby Skates". I thought it worthy of its own thread but just delete this if that's not the case.

I would not be surprised if Crosby announces a more permanent indefinite absence from the game, if that makes ANY sense.

So is he trying to throw us all off with all of this skating he's doing?

He is just going to make official what everyone already knows. He won't be ready for training camp, but I dont expect him to provide any time table either.

Crosby is announcing he has decided to change from smooth to chunky peanut butter.

Randy Baumann on FB
I talked to a prominent doctor in FLA that knows Sid's doctor. He said, Sid is Ok. (100%) Mario was down in ATL with Sid watching him workout last week. So, according to this 'very prominent sports med doctor in FLA) Sid.....shall return.

So what he's really trying to say is that Sid is in the best shape of his life.

I can see something like that too.
"We'll try again in January and take it from there, no exact schedule" etc...
Fingers crossed for something more positive though, of course!

Boy has the Post-Gazette's coverage of the Penguins been terrible in the past year or so. They don't even have a mention of Crosby's conference on today's Internet page.

He should just come out and have some fun with everyone and say "Where are we? I thought I was going to the ZOO!"

Would you rather have Sid 100% in January or 80% in October? Here is the big question.

He is 24. One hit away from hanging in th rafters.
Although Malkin is also one hit away from the rafters. You just never know. Risk or Play?
Its not like Sid is 30, coming off a career year, passing his prime. Patience. I expect the press conference to be "I'll be ready opening day, pending any setbacks. I am on track"
and in response to "indefinite" I completely disagree 200%! Why would he announce that while tickets are being sold. Not gonna happen.

Mike Prisuta & Randy also on WDVE saying that they expect good news. Tim Benz on the X is of course, saying the opposite. Maybe Randy & Mike do have a connection. Prisuta was the first person that I heard say that Sid was going to see other specialists. I didn't hear that from Rossi or the PG until well after the time I heard it from Prisuta. Wouldn't it be funny if they got the scoop while the "home of the Pens, the X" and the Pens beat writer are still guessing.
