When Serena had the meltdown with the foot-fault against Cljsters, I thought ~~ one time thing. Her conduct today is bordering on bullying the chairperson. Not pretty.

And there you have it. I love how they call it an upset.

Just saw the replay. McEnroe & Carillo both said it would be a let point before the chair umpire called it. Seems like a fairly obvious call for Williams making a loud noise before Stosur hit the ball.

American tennis is at a nadir. Serena is really the only top player we have. We don't have anybody close to an elite player on the men's side. We have some depth on the men's side and Sock could be an elite player. On the woman's side I can't even think of our next best player after the Williams sisters.

I guess I'm the only one that absolutely HATES Federer. I've been a fan of Djokovic for a couple years now, but Rafa is my favorite.
I'm fine with either of them winning, but I'm incredibly joyous that Federer lost.

I was beyond thrilled when he became fallible. Now it's just kinda ho-hum he can lose he's not untouchable.

Speaking to ESPN Federer said: "It's awkward trying to explain this loss," Federer said. "It is what it is. It's the obvious reason. He came back. He played well. I didn't play so well at the end. I have only myself to blame.
"I set it up all perfect. - I couldn't finish it.
"He snaps one shot, and the whole thing changes. It's strange how it goes. I would be in the finals with a chance to win the title.
"I have to accept that and move on. It happens sometimes. That's why we all watch sports. We don't know what the outcome is going to be. It's also very cruel and tough sometimes."

Is that what people were complaining about? I don't even know what could have been construed as disrespectful there.

Federer called that one shot "lucky". It seems that what the outrage was all about. Didn't seem that bad to me either.

I don't know why people were outraged by that comment. Djokovic himself basically said, in not so many words, that he just blindly went for broke there.

Yeah it was pretty clear that that was basically a home run swing.

Are you talking about the 3rd game of the second set? If so. Holy ****, what a game/last point.

One eye on the stream...2 on work.

With all the serve bounces Nole takes, can't understand the too much time call on Rafa.

Nadal seems to be letting every tiny little thing bother him. Not sure I have seem him complain this much in a match.
As for the too much time call, both need to receive more of them during the season. They take a ludicrous amount of time between points.

Yep...I don't care that much for Nadal, but throughout the last few rounds I have developed an irrational disdain for Djokovic.

I have, what I believe to be, a totally rational disdain for Nadal. So go Djokovic

I don't like him, but if he beats both Nadal and Roger; he's playing some great tennis. lucky too.

He's definitely the best player this year, but I still don't like him. This is a historical season.

This is starting to get good. I guess Nadal had some coffee during the third set, because he looks awake now.
