Apparently I might be getting an away E. Kane jersey for 50 bucks :scared:

This isn't about jerseys but I didn't really want to create a new thread for this. Starting this year, all NHL teams will have numbers on the front (top) of their helmets. This is to help officials and broadcasters to identify players easier. I guess it makes sense. Whatever.

Yeah. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. My main concern is that not every helmet has a flat surface on the front like those Eastons.

How horrible will the numbers look on this Reebok model?

Just put them below where it says Reebok, no?

It's not that easy. The manufacturers payed a lot of money to prominently display their logos. Can't just violate contracts like that. Which is why the #'s are placed where they are on the Wild helmets shown above.

Detroit's new font will take some getting used to. They look like they were ordered from Borntrade.

This comes up every preseason. Detroit always uses a block font on their preseason jerseys. They will be wearing their traditional arched name font when the puck drops in the regular season.

As you can imagine, it's kind of hard to make their name plates. Thus they only make them for those who make the team. Kind of like having to earn the right to look like a Red Wing.

Weird, I never noticed it before until this preseason. Thanks for the clarification, that's cool to know :thumb:

Also, knowing that, I would never do that lame crap where I put my own name on a Red Wings jersey.

In case anybody missed it, the Sens officially unveiled their "Heritage" uniforms this Saturday.

Not bad. Pretty sweet that development was aided by a fan that did the design concept of it a couple years ago. The inconsistent stripe widths bother me and it does look a lot like the Blackhawks Winter Classic jersey. But it's still miles better than their SNES jerseys.

Only new jersey left for unveiling is the Islanders "black" jerseys.

The Jets jersey is awesome. I didn't like it at first, but it's totally grown on me.

I will whole hardheartedly agree with that. All my jerseys are blank. Excluding a Lemieux throwback that I don't wear.

What exactly is the big deal about that jersey thing? I have seen people at the CEC make comments about it, it's a pretty laughable thing to get upset about.

Yeah great move by both organizations.

I was hoping that the league would pay tribute with season long patch. Was a little disappointed that the Penguins only had a moment of silence before the 1st preseason game. In my opinion it was the worst tragedy in the history of professional sports. Just because it happened in a competing league in another continent shouldn't matter. Everyone of those lives lost need to be remembered.

Well I am seeing two opposite ends of the spectrum there. The whole man card thing is laughable really, almost joke-tastic. Then you have two people who disagree with you because you've thrown out a general insult.

I was being purposely obtuse, because it seems as though RJW's point is echoed by many LGPers

Was making a joke that I wouldn't be worthy of donning the real font of the vaunted Red Wings jersey. I'm only good for "Preseason Block."

And I'll tell the truth as to why I hate the personalized jersey. Whatever people do with their $375 is none my business. And it's also not the "you're not on the Penguins Mr. Silly #72" reason. It's the split second thought I have, "When was there a Silly on the Penguins? Early 95 maybe?" And then I feel that Silly is playing a cruel joke on me by testing my hockey recall and I hate Mr. Silly.
