I'm trying to justify new receiver purchase but I can't. I have a Harman Kardon that's probably 12 years old and the volume knob doesn't work. if you turn it up, it goes up. If you turn it down, it goes up. But it works fine on the remote and since I never adjust the volume via the knob, it's not much of an issue.
