I guess the Pens don't want home ice advantage in the first round

It's very frustrating I hate junk NHL defense and effort.

I give the last few games to HCDB.
Stupid line shuffling could not kill the morale of this team could it.
He has a perfectly well oiled machine steaming ahead.
Crosby comes back.
He puts him between Cookie and TK.
Cookie and TK go on a scoring spree.
What the heck was wrong with that setup???

I would like to suggest that this game was lost when Orpik decided to become extremely selfish and tried to rip the leg off of PA Parenteu along the boards. That PP, which resulted in a goal, was the begining of the downward spiral.

Holding 4th is the goal now.
We might be better off dropping to 6th. I seriously don't want to play the Flyers right now.

What exactly was the coaches' game plan tonight?
All this talk about improved team defense, and again they come out and lay another ostrich-sized egg against the Isles.
With the Flyers winning tonight, home ice advantage could slip away.
They batter wrap Letang in bubble wrap until the playoffs start. This team is nothing without him.

Would have been nice if they really got emotionally involved in these last two games before the ten minute mark in the third. I think tonight is a little concerning. You'd think after getting humbled a few times lately that they'd really put their foot down but they didn't seem to care much until it was too late. Still time for them to right the ship before the playoffs but it's starting to tick away. They've been in deeper holes than this earlier in the season but this isn't the time to be going into this kind of funk. First seed is not happening, maybe the reality that they may not even have home ice will snap them out of it.

The Pens will be the worst team in the playoffs playing this way. Dey say dey care, but dey don care. They just got zero pts in two games against the Islanders. Against the New York Islanders. With all that talent, and first place at stake, and playing the same team that embarrassed them Tuesday, after a rare upbraiding by Coach Bylsma for their lack of attention to defense, they once again played like it just doesn't matter to them. I don't know that they can just switch it on when the playoffs start.

Well at least they can "flip that switch" once the playoffs start, right?

Not even just the players. Didn't like any of the coaching tonight as well. Pointless line switching (last game included) not adjusted the 5-man PP unit after the first debacle...

they would really have to lose all their remaining 5 and hope for NJ to cruise...
No way that happens.

Me? Yes. The disinterest in winning division titles, the awful effort, pp, and defense?

Martin has been better offensively, but, man, what a black hole on offense. If the puck goes near him the play dies.
