Ryan Malone is on fire

Postby Big Easy Pens Fan on Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:00 am

Malone has scored 5 goals in his last two games. Went from 15 to 20 goals in a heartbeat. Kudos to Bugsy. :thumb:

Mathematically eliminated and he catches fire? :pop:

Can't believe people were clamoring for him to come back at his pay.

Malone has matured into a pretty good leader. His biggest sin is not being able to stay healthy because he plays the game very hard. He has 6 20+ goal seasons under his belt and his rate this year totals out to a 60 point guy when games lost to injury are considered.

I wouldn't want to pay him what he makes, but there are a lot of NHL players stealing their money. He isn't one of them. He plays with pain too, so I can only imagine how many other games he has played where another $4-5M a year player would have sat out.

Kudos to him for another good year. If he can ever get a full season in his totals could go up since he wouldn't have multiple stretches where he is trying to catch up from lengthy layoffs.

Yeah, I couldn't tell if that post was serious or not. There are players on every single team with worse contracts than his.

Lulz. He just ruined chimera with a left then holds off pummeling him while he's down. Chimera jumps up trying to resume the fight. Malone would have ruined his day real quick, his arm was still cocked back.

I had a daydream after that "fight" that the refs let him go when he jumped back up and then Malone KO'd him.

Seriously, would love to have him back on the Pens. His grit would be a welcome addition in the top 9 (much better than Kennedy).

(edited Kennedy down to top 9) :)

claiming that kennedy was ever a "top 6" player is the latest fad in diminishing his value. a few people have tried this lately.

Thats entirely not true. There was a great many people last year chirping about how he was a top 6 forward.
