People aren't allowed to say not signing talbot was a mistake when they at first laughed at "how much" Philly signed him for.

Laugh all you want, but overall it is a pretty awesome team.
Not laughing at all - I think we have an awesome team and i would switch with anyone. No way no how. I think RS is superb. It goes to your point earlier "I feel like we lost more than three games." I disagree. We've only lost a false conception we had in the first place - that a healthy penguins team would automatically win a stanely cup. It's not tue. It takes so much more including luck. Look at Vancouver. That team has been awesome the past five years and they have not won one cup.

FWIW, Malkin seemed to be one of the few that didn't get involved in the thuggery, didn't he?

they might trade staal at some point if they think they won't be able to re-sign him...which could be a thing. it was weird to see him back off after sid came back. if one wanted to look deep into things, one may think he doesn't like being 3rd banana. so the greener pastures of the UFA market might speak to him.

Doubt Cooke is gone, he redeemed himself this year. As for Staal, Asham, Johnson, Sullivan, and literally the entire defense save for Letang, any of them could be gone. Fleury should be on a short leash as well.

Given that Max took the 2009-11 regular seasons off and showed up just for the 2009 playoffs, I had no problem with the Pens letting him walk and still don't.

Where would Talbot fit on this team? With Staal and Cooke? I don't see how that makes us much better given his body of work, and I don't see how hindsight arm chair GMs can nit pick like this.

You missed my point too. I am hearing many posters complain that we should have signed talbot when there was no way at that time that we should have.
People are being hypocritical if they thought it was umb to re-sign him then but wish we would have signed him now.

OMG. U guys are just suggesting change for the sake of change. Please draw line combos where this team is better by getting rid of those players. The roster is unmatched. It's not the composition of the roster's fault we lost.

I don't think Talbot is the difference between giving up 20 goals and some other acceptable number. He was surplus to requirements in the summer and still would be if he was re-signed.

It was never a bad deal. It is pretty obvious now also that it never will be.

I don't get that. Most of the changes they've made in the series have made things worse.
