Play Hockey or Watch Hockey

Got a text around 2PM asking if I wanted to play hockey tonight.

What would you do? Play in a pickup hockey game or watch a playoff hockey game of your favorite team?

Playoff hockey all the way. There will be plenty of other times to play hockey in the next few months, but there are between 3 and 27 Penguins games left until October.

Playing, shmlaying. Look at the series, for Christ's sake. It's only the second game and I'm up 12 to 2. Playing come and go, yubb, but Pittsburgh, "the Penguin," they only play Philadelphia once, maybe twice in a lifetime.

Hrm. I asked someone at work and they said "I'd play a sport any day over watching anything on TV."

That's the way I was leaning, and I've decided to play.

I'll probably catch part of the last period. But I just can't see turning down being active, let alone playing an awesome sport like hockey, for sitting on a couch or barstool watching a game. If it were the finals, or something like that... maybe I'd choose differently.

I've found since I've been at school and can't watch every single game, I've enjoyed the sport and the games more (win or lose).

If this was a regular season game, I would have agreed with you. But this is playoff hockey between the best rivalry in the sport.

If this was your beer league team playing a regular season or playoff game I'd say play, but if it's just pickup I watch the game.

Glad I played rather than watching Game 2's glorious failure. Wish I'd have had the chance to play yesterday.
